This new wireless network offers easier registration using your NetID, while allowing guests to temporarily register using an email address; all through a single wireless network. Secure devices such as laptops and phones should use eduroam for WPA2-Enterprise encryption.
December 18th: UTM-Open begin to show up anywhere WiFi is available on campus.
January 8th: UTM Guest will be shut down and guests will begin using UTM-Open.
Summer of 2024: SkyNet-PSK will be shutting down.

Canvas: Wrapping up Fall '23 and Beginning Spring '24
As you wrap up the semester, consider these tips for future access and organization of your content.
"The Canvas tools that I use the most are Speedgrader, along with Rubrics. The tools make grading assignments much quicker, and it helps keep me organized, and helps me provide students with more consistent feedback on their written assignments. I also really like that I can see a running average on a particular assignment as I grade it."
Dr. Margaret Lewis, Professor of History
"The Canvas Rubric Tool has been a great benefit to both myself as the instructor and the students enrolled in my classes. I use this tool for grading papers in both face-to-face and online classes. It has been a great time saver from a grading standpoint as it populates comments and values immediately for each specific component of a paper. This has saved countless hours of communication between the students and myself regarding grading explanation as the rubric provides almost every detail of grade calculation. This leaves very few questions to be addressed. The rubric also keeps grading focused, on-track, and promotes consistency among submissions. It is a great tool that comes highly recommended for anyone looking to improve both efficiency and effectiveness in grading subjective submissions."
Dr. Brandon Kilburn, Professor of Management

Turnitin Update
UT Martin's access to Turnitin's AI writing detection feature will end on December 31, 2023. Turnitin provided automatic access to the preview of this feature in Spring 2023 to help instructors understand how Turnitin's detector works. However, at the end of this preview phase, AI writing detection scores and the AI writing report will no longer be visible for any submissions. If needed, please download these scores and reports in PDF format before the end date.
