Mission Statement
The mission of the Physical Plant is to provide and operate a safe, organized, comfortable, and well-maintained campus that promotes learning and gives students the complete collegiate experience.
Recognitions
- The area between Paul Meek Library and Boling University Center was recognized as the Most Beautiful Public Place by the Martin Beautiful Committee, 2006.
- The Honor Award for Excellence for Colleges and Universities for the appearance of the grounds presented by the Grounds Maintenance Magazine and The Professional Grounds Management Society, 2006.
- The Honor Award for Excellence for Colleges and Universities for the appearance of the grounds presented by the Grounds Maintenance Magazine and The Professional Grounds Management Society, 2005.
- First Place Winner of "A Pledge and A Promise" Award, $12,000, sponsored by Anheuser/Busch and Busch Gardens and conducted at Busch Gardens, Tampa Florida, for "Project Recycle", June 1994.
- The Grand Award for Excellence for Colleges and Universities for the appearance of the grounds presented by Grounds Maintenance Magazine, and The Professional Grounds Management Society, November 1993.
- UTM Recycles! was recognized with an Award of Excellence in the public education category at the TDOT/Keep TN Beautiful Biennial State Conference 2009. A plaque and $1000 grant was awarded.
